Ballistic Defender Door
Not all polycarbonate guarding is built the same. Our Ballistic Defender Door uses UL752 Level 1 ballistic polycarbonate, designed for heavy-duty skid-steer applications where impact resistance and operator protection are critical. It’s built to handle debris, material strike, and demanding jobsite conditions common with Caterpillar skid steer operations.
Unlike drilled or milled panels, the ballistic polycarbonate used in our steel skid steer guard is left intact. This reduces the risk of micro-fractures that can weaken protection over time.
The panel is bonded directly to a reinforced steel frame, limiting flex and maintaining structural integrity under impact.
This Caterpillar guard is engineered as a direct bolt-on replacement and is designed to fit the original door structure of CAT “D3” series skid steers and hydraulic excavators. The result is a clean, secure installation that protects the cab, operator, and machine without altering factory components.
Impact Defender Door
Each door is built with ½-inch impact polycarbonate mounted on a ¼-inch steel frame, delivering the heavy-duty skid steer guarding operators expect when operating Caterpillar skid steers in demanding environments.
We don’t cut corners on safety. Our doors are never milled or drilled, preserving full structural strength. This guarding system meets FMVSS 205 / ANSI Z26 AS-4 standards (DOT #1247), making it a dependable solution for Cat skid steer cab guarding where operator protection matters.
Its high-optic transparent polycarbonate is finished with a clear, abrasion-resistant coating applied to both surfaces. The result is superior clarity, increased surface hardness, and long-term durability.
This guard is designed to bolt directly to your original Caterpillar skid steer door using factory hardware. Hinges, gasket, lock system, and emergency escape components are all reused and mounted to our ¼-inch steel door frame.

The CAT05A-CG Skid Steer Top Cab Guard includes a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. During this period, the manufacturer may, at its discretion, repair defects in materials or workmanship at no charge. If repair is not feasible, a repaired or refurbished product of equal value may be provided in exchange.
